Free music - The End

The End is one of the many clubbing institutions in London. It’s the place that people like DJ Marky, Erol Alkan or our beloved French Master Laurent Garnier have chosen as a residency. The End also hosts many cool events organised by top labels and promoters like Bugged Out!(see below the picture of Boys Noize from a party in December), Border Community or Durrr.

A few month ago the End launched a new version of their website. If you haven’t had a look at it yet, it is now time to do so. It basically puts to shame most of the club websites I know.

Endclub.com is filled with nice videos, photos and relevant information about/from artists who play there. The best part is the amazing music section that lets you listen to or download not only mixes that were recorded during the nights but also a series of 3 compilations called Recommends and featuring the sound of now (Dans le sac vs Scroobius Pip, Sebastien Tellier, Fairmont…). And cherry on the cake, it’s all free.

So check the site, and even better check the club!

Is Banksy becoming part of the London tourist experience?

And again a new Banksy:

This massive piece can ben seen in Newman Street, right next to a Royal Mail facility:

The presence of a CCTV camera right next to the text is a too obvious irony:

Banksy and his crew had to put scaffoldings in the Royal Mail yard to create this piece. It’s the kind of stuff that takes time and doesn’t get unnoticed.

So here’s a question: are the authorities letting Banksy do his stuff in order to please street art fans and tourists?

War of the worlds sky

This morning when I arrived at the office the sky was looking like it was going to open and unleash an army of blood-thirsty devils who would destroy the city (click picture to enlarge).
